DRIFT is my anniversary piece in AI filmmaking. It is a letter to my future self and a reminder that the “final frame” is never truly captured. One year of pushing pixels, refining prompts, and searching for the frequency between the noise.
Concept
An anniversary piece marking one year in AI filmmaking, DRIFT is a letter to my future self to persist amidst the unknown. I chose a minimalist approach to return to the protagonist of Cliff’s Edge / ECHO, transforming his narrative from a story of survival into a meditation on surrender. It is an exploration of that fragile moment when the fear of falling is replaced by the freedom of floating, proving that a simple, quiet frame can hold the weight of an entire year’s journey.
Execution
The workflow centered on an img2vid pipeline using Nano Banana Pro to anchor the visual “blueprints” of the first and last frames. I focused heavily on the geometry of the landscape, using “Horizontal Leading Lines” to maintain a sense of grounded perspective as the character began his impossible ascent. By precisely aligning the horizon across shifting shot types and angles, I created a visual anchor that keeps the audience connected to reality even as the laws of physics begin to dissolve.
